some saturday mornings, i wake up yearning for scrambled eggs & croissant french toast from my favorite brunch spot in town.  today was one of those days.  so i quickly pinned up my awkward-length hair, wrapped myself in a comfy cardi and headed to brunch!

hear i go again, apologizing for not blogging much.  but instead of just that i'll explain to you why i haven't been updating regularly for the past few months!  i've been hard at work on my ep (coming out april 24th!) and instead of spending my free time blogging, i dedicated that time to delving back into the fabulous world of pop music.  it's been really fun, but being away from the blog made me realize how much i miss the blogosphere.  it also reminded me how so much of my life now has come from this blog - i've made friends from all of over the world and gotten to participate in some really cool ventures.  also, when i moved back to nashville, this was my way of meeting people and developing the amazing friend group that i have now...so long story short, thank you for your patience & thanks for reading this blog - it means the world to me!!

the sweet folks over at guess were kind enough to send over these sunglasses and i was REALLY excited to try them on.  you see, i'm an aviator fanatic.  anyways, i'm totally in love with this pair because they seem to go with everything!  i paired them with one of my favorite ensembles - this leopard tunic & giant belt.  oh! and my new h by halston shoes - i love these things and scored a seriously awesome deal on them!

i know i keep apologizing for my blogging absence, but it's been great to take a few weeks off and get recharged!  oh and just so you know - i've picked up a serious new hobby: PAINTING. well, so far i've only painted two shelves white - but, if you saw the sheer joy in my face every time i started painting those shelves you'd be laughing hysterically! i even have a new friend at home depot, although i'm fairly certain this hobby probably won't last more than a few weeks :)

all of that leads me to my latest find: a beautiful vintage diane von furstenburg jumpsuit from one of my favorite vintage shops in town: diamond star halo.  unfortunately they'll be closing their doors soon...but get this...EVERYTHING IS 80% off. yup.  if you live in nashville, i'd recommend heading over there immediately - there are some serious bargains!

this jacket is my new favorite piece - it's all about the shoulders!  i took these photos (on a VERY windy day) outside of one of my favorite watering holes in town, no. 308, and thought it'd be fun to play with some black & whites.

on another note, i'm having way too much fun this week because my best friend is in town from boston! we're spending the days shopping/eating/relaxing. it's pretty fantastic :)

yes folks, i'm wearing flats! the other day i was inspired by all of the cute kids i saw running around in school uniforms and decided use that inspiration for this outfit!  my friend chad took these photos at this fun coffee shop called portland brew in east nashville. i don't normally take photos inside, but he has a great eye and i thought this was a really great place to take a few shots!

in other news - this weekend has been filled with christmas activities! last night i went to a holiday party and today i'm going christmas shopping and caroling! i love the holidays :)

i've pretty much been living in this aztec-inspired sweater recently - it's so comfortable & cozy! nashville weather has been utterly crazy, so i was lucky enough to wear it over my cut offs one last time.

i love mixing prints, so when i found this amazing vintage dress i had to pair it with this plaid trench.  btw, i forgot to tell you last time, but i changed my hair color again! can anyone say color addiction?

this outfit was a strategic one. my brother & i headed off to eat at nashville's latest culinary treasure: the catbird seat. it boasts a seven course tasting menu (they even did the entire thing vegetarian for me!) and it was beyond amazing.  i chose this dress because it gave me the freedom to eat whatever i wanted :)

on another note, i was so excited when liam of york set me this amazing jewelry.  their pieces are perfectly crafted and compliment almost any outfit - my personal favorite is the arrows ring!

a few years ago i probably would have never worn a cut out dress, but the older i get (i'm 24), the more confident i get with my body! that's something i'm proud to say and i think it's important to wear things that make you feel strong & sexy.  this dress was definitely one of those pieces for me - i love the dramatic length and fantastic sides! it's another look from the thompson fifteen shoot and i was so glad the owner of the site, chelsea, brought it for me to wear that day.

btw - what's everyone going to be for halloween? i need some ideas!

so...i'm confused. the weather has me dripping sweat one minute and then freezing the next. truth be told, i find fall perfectly strange. oh well, i kind of like it because it keeps things interesting.  i decided to wear this long sweater because it's so cozy and fantastic - i've literally had it for years and i always find myself coming back to it!

this weekend should be fun - i'm going to all sorts of fun events for a music festival in nashville called soundland. let me know if any of you are going to be there!
