school girl.

photography by: chad davis
skirt: h&m, blouse, ring, earrings: vintage, oxfords: off broadway, socks: tommy hilfiger, belt: banana republic

yes folks, i'm wearing flats! the other day i was inspired by all of the cute kids i saw running around in school uniforms and decided use that inspiration for this outfit!  my friend chad took these photos at this fun coffee shop called portland brew in east nashville. i don't normally take photos inside, but he has a great eye and i thought this was a really great place to take a few shots!

in other news - this weekend has been filled with christmas activities! last night i went to a holiday party and today i'm going christmas shopping and caroling! i love the holidays :)

Wow...! You've inspired me Zarna.

I’d already been inspired by Alexa Cheung, but you’ve convinced me.

Schoolgirl chic really is cool. And so individual. Easy to make your own schoolgirl look. And no more being dictated to by school policy and rules. Best of both worlds.

Sarna, you look amazing in these shots. Great photographs. Love that ring too. Your outfit has given you a fresh, youthful look that really suits you girl.

And it's such an easy, fresh, youthful style too. Honest, fun, and comfortable as well as stylish.

A pleated mini, schoolgirl chic length, makes legs look great too.

Heels are great in their place. But now I’m off to buy a pair of flats - no, "sensibly stylish" strap over school shoes - and team them with a simple but stylish pleated mini and a crisp blouse or Peter Pan collar.

You have really nailed it Zarna.

Why camouflage with oodles of yukky makeup to try to look fresh when we can simply dress happily, honestly, and carefree.

Best bit is after a couple of years not too distant memory I won't have to go to school, but instead I'll be aware of enjoying the best part of again being a schoolgirl – not being dictated to by school policy and rules, but now I can be comfortably stylish and chic in my choice of “uniforms”.

Thank you again...

- Susan xx
