jewel-encrusted gowns anyone?

so i noticed that a plethora of stars at the oscars were wearing light-colored-jewel-encrusted gowns.

here are some examples:

1. MILEY CYRUS

this dress on her made me want to gag.  but in all honesty, i thought the dress it self was amazing!! maybe without the belt on someone who can actually act/sing it would be much, much more glamorous.

2. TINA FEY

love her, and her presenting bit was fabulous!

3. SARAH JESSICA PARKER

easily one of my favorites on the red carpet.  this dress is perfection!

4. NICOLE KIDMAN

don't like the neckline, but she's gorgeous!

5. PENELOPE CRUZ

again, i think the neckline didn't work.  it was too small.  but the rest of this dress is FABULOUS!!! i'm so glad she won best supporting actress!

6. JENNIFER ANISTON

kinda boring compared to the other one, but seriously...this lady never ages!

7. ANNE HATHAWAY

i think she is beautiful. and i love how she always rocks a bold red lip.  she went for old hollywood and definitely achieved it!

okay so see what i meant about the trend?  these weren't even everyone wearing this trend, i just tried to limit my post.

recital woes.

i apologize for the lack of posts, but im out of commission til after tomorrow night!

so even though all the shoes i've bought recently have been black (i need to step back on the color train), i MUST HAVE THESE BOOTS.

i am patiently waiting for them to go on sale and be more affordable.

until then, i am patiently lusting over these 6 inch  high boots.

light as a feather.

so i bought some more SUPER HUGE earrings.  everyone who knows me knows i love big earrings, but these seem to be in another league.

i paired them with a simple blackoutfit so they'd be the main focus of my outfit.

mustard yellow: the new neutral.

still a bit chilly out so i was excited to get to put on some tights and not overheat!

i had fun playing with neutral tones, and decided to add my favorite mustard yellow bag for fun :)

im wearing a club monaco blouse, american appareal navy skirt, limited tights, diy earrings and my favorite boots :)

five.

okay, so one of my fabulous friends called me and told me to immediately come meet her because she was near a boutique that had a bunch of the clothes from sex in the city on display.

so, it was around eleven pm and i had to get ready in about five minutes and get over there.  i wanted to start blogging about my outfits, since i love a lot of blogs that do this, so here goes my experiment.

i literally put this ensemble together in five minutes, and it was sort of a fun fashion challenge: quick hair, makeup and wardrobe!

for once it was actually cold in miami and i was wearing express jeans, faux fur zara vest, br magenta shirt, vintage scarf, bcbg shoes, f. 21 cocktail ring/belt and a vintage clutch.  i was feeling rather colorful!

okay so there are two things that really bother me:

1) juicy couture terry track suits

2) when people wear workout clothes all day and don't work out
